Egremont School Welcomes You to Early Kindergarten! We are thrilled that you and your child will be part of our Early Kindergarten family! We look forward to a safe, educational, and fun year. Thank you for entrusting your children into our care!
Our Early Kindergarten starts as early as three years and six months, but it is considered our "4-year-old classroom."
Students actively engage in activities that teach various subjects and participate in exploration and play through teacher-led instruction. We purposely plan each activity that encourages creativity, curiosity, and learning. We aim to deliver an age-appropriate yet challenging curriculum. Our Early Kindergarten classroom is a place full of wonder, laughter, and love. Our goal is to assist with the development of each student to become life-long learners and to continue their educational journey confidently. Our Early Kindergarten class focuses on creating a love of learning and continues to engage students' curiosity with mathematical concepts, pre-writing, and pre-reading skills! We enjoy watching our students develop into emergent readers and writers who are ready for Kindergarten and beyond! We love partnering with our parents to provide the best experience to each child.
Purpose of Early Kindergarten:
In Early Kindergarten, children enter with various skills, interests, and abilities. In our EK program, we foster and help students further develop those skills. The students learn foundations necessary for their future school career. Students learn to follow directions, work in a group environment as well as independently. The program encompasses language arts, reading readiness, mathematics, science, art, music/movement, development of social and personal skills, computer knowledge, physical education, and foreign language (Spanish). All of these elements are equal and critical pieces to your child’s development. They are designed to prepare your child not only for Kindergarten, but for a successful learning experience in the years to come. Encourage, praise, and celebrate your child as he/she works toward mastering the challenges that are a part of the learning experience.
